Zentrada – License Barometer May - August 2016 Toys Topic Pokemon rockets to number 1

September 9, 2016

The Toys and Social Media Topic number one now has also reached the licensed product market. In short time „Pokemon“ has overtaken Frozen on the first position and thus breaks the dominance of Disney.

The zentrada  trend barometer analyzes the search, click and order behaviour on the 8  zentrada wholesale order platforms in Europe and thus provides information about the market development in licensed product business.

In the media, the discussion about people who are searching virtual monsters on the streets is still present. Now the hype around the little yellow monsters has reached the product markets of the licensed products industry. In the demand index of zentrada Pokemon has reached first place in the meantime.

„Just a pity that the manufacturers of the licensing industry, hardly occupy the topic and therefore it is still difficult to convert the demand into sales“, says zentrada chief Ingo Schloo.

A look on the allocation of Pokemon demand in Europe shows that the small pocket monsters are in demand, especially in Germany, France and the Netherlands as well as in the outer regions of Europe (Scandinavia and Eastern Europe). In the southern countries, Spain and Italy, on the other hand, the demand is still restrained.

Besides the long-runner Frozen at number 2, new issues such as Paw Patrol and Chica Vampiro have climbed on the front places.

The new Universal Pictures Topic Pets, which is estimated as successors of Minions in the merchandising industry, appears so far only in Germany and Spain in the first places.

In general, the licensed products market in the European countries appears currently fragmented and on continued weak level.

While the topic Chica Vampiro in France comes first (followed closely by newcomer Soy Luna) it is poorly represented in other European countries.

zentrada is, with over 15,000 items regarding 60 license topics and over 15 top suppliers from Europe, the leading online platform for the wholesale purchase of licensed products for many smaller and independent retailers.

With Setino, Dinotoys, Textiel-Trade, Lamaloli, Diomercado, Cash Licences, PepeToys, Ten-Trade, Regalos 4M, Regaliz, Royal Textile and Kiddy Stores numerous manufacturers and wholesalers offer their items at top conditions, low minimum order values and short delivery times for order processing via zentrada and TradeSafe.

With a redesigned buyers world "Licensed products" and matching information services, zentrada wants to facilitate the access to the highly volatile product group for its members. Interested traders find the matching licenses in the main product lines toys, gift items, children's clothing, home textiles or school supplies.
